We are on a mission to reunite brothers and sisters separated by foster care and other out-of-home placements

We believe that all kids deserve the opportunity to spend meaningful time with their brothers and sisters and we are dedicated to helping make that happen for kids living in foster care.  While many of us take for granted the opportunity to share meals, play games and say goodnight to our siblings each day, the kids we serve at Camp To Belong River Valley cherish these small moments that they do not always have.

A summer camp program designed intentionally to strengthen the sibling connection.

Camp to Belong River Valley serves every child's inherent need to know their family. The need to connect. To make memories. To Belong. Camp To Belong provides kids living in foster care a place to come where they are no different from anyone else, where they are not judged for being in foster care and can simply, belong.

Our flagship program is a six day, five night summer camp experience during which we reunite brothers and sisters in a safe, neutral, camp environment to create childhood memories together that they would not otherwise have due to living in separate homes.

Our signature programs are  specifically designed to include sibling enhancement projects, life skills learning, and meaningful events that allow them to express their feelings among their siblings and others who are just like them.

Camp To Belong believes that maintaining the sibling bonds of brothers and sisters will inspire them to rise above their circumstances through the healing comfort of these relationships.

Who We Serve

We serve youth from both Pennsylvania and New Jersey. With over 22,000 youth in care currently (14,000 and 8,000, respectively), approximately 16,500 of them are separated from at least one sibling.

Want to be a Camp Counselor?

Camp To Belong runs on volunteers.

It takes numerous caring individuals each summer to reunite siblings for the week. Many of our counselors are social workers, teachers, foster/adoptive parents, nurses, corporate executives, etc. If you are kind, caring, responsible, committed to helping youth, and understand the importance of the sibling connection, we want you!
